Brown butter biscuits is a recipe adapted from page 42 of the July/August 2022 edition of Tesco's magazine.[1]

1 stick (125 g/4.4 oz) butter
½ cup (110 g/3.9 oz) superfine sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2½ cups (350 g/12 oz) self-rising flour
Preheat the oven to 180 °C (356 °F). Line 2 baking sheets.
Melt the butter in a pan over a medium heat for 3–5 minutes until the surface is foamy.
3–5 minutes
Leave it to cool for 5 minutes.
5 minutes
Whisk in the sugar until dissolved.
Leave it to cool for 10–15 minutes until lukewarm.
10–15 minutes
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Fold in the flour until combined.
Roll the dough into 20 balls and place on the prepared baking sheets.
Flatten the biscuits with a fork.
Bake for 12–14 minutes until golden.
12–14 minutes
Transfer the biscuits to a wire rack and leave it to cool.
