1 lb potatoes
¾ ounce chopped onion
Salt
Pepper
2 ounces butter, chopped
Puff pastry, rolled out ⅛ inch thick
Peel and slice your potatoes very thin.
Layer the potatoes in a pie dish, adding some onion, salt, and pepper between each layer.
Add a dash of water to the potatoes, and scatter the chopped butter over top.
Cover the filling with the rolled-out puff pastry.
Bake at 375°F until golden and cooked through (about 1½ hours).
