4 ea. (400 g) medium onions, chopped as fine as possible
1 small chilli
2 large cloves of garlic, chopped finely or crushed
Ginger (about the same as the garlic in size), finely chopped
250 g split red lentils
3 tins, chopped tomatoes
1 stock cube
Water as necessary
12 whole cardamom pods
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 teaspoon paprika
12 grinds of the black pepper
¼ teaspoon mustard seed
Fresh chilli to taste
Cook the ingredients in the order listed, giving the onions some time before adding everything else.
Put the lid on and cook until the lentils are cooked to your preference.
